On Portugal's Atlantic edge, where the Sintra hills meet the ocean, Quinta Vale da Roca expresses one of the country's most distinctive wine landscapes. Shaped by cool ocean breezes and the sandy soils of Colares, its wines carry a clear sense of origin — elegant, expressive and unmistakably coastal.

A small estate at the edge of Europe.
Azoia, Colares — on the southern slopes of Cabo da Roca.
A historic family property transformed over generations into a boutique Atlantic winery and intimate coastal retreat.
A
The Land
The original property remained within the founding family for generations. In the 1920s it served as a private coastal holiday home; later, local Portuguese architects restored it and opened it as a small retreat in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.
B
The Vineyard
Roughly 3 hectares of vineyards sit directly on the Atlantic hillside, facing ocean winds, morning mist and the sandy, clay and granite-stone soils of Colares.
C
The New Chapter
In 2025, young owners brought new energy to Quinta Vale da Roca — expanding wine experiences and curated events while preserving the estate's soul and terroir.
